The Women Of The Blogosphere

By Francis W. Porretto
Francis W. Porretto avatar

For those who've never, ah, leafed through a copy of Playboy -- you know, just for the articles -- when your Curmudgeon was a young fellow, that publication was given to doing photo spreads titled "the Women of XXX." XXX was, for a while, some college or collegiate association: the Ivy League, the Big East, the Southern PAC, and so forth. Then they started doing spreads based on other sorts of connections: "The Women of Wal-Mart," "The Women of John Derek," "The Women of Sandra Bernhardt," "The Women of The Men of Joni Mitchell," "The Women of Cell Block K at Marion Federal Penetentiary."

No, this won't be a salacious photo spread. It's just that for no clear reason, your Curmudgeon has just been struck by how many of the Blogosphere's very best are of the distaff persuasion:

...and many others too numerous to list.

Thank you, ladies.

  1. gee Frances, thanks very much, Nice to be in the company of such interesting women. Your previous post about the importance of an introduction in setting the tome is very interesting actually for non-ficiton as well as fiction.

  8. It’s nice to see someone shed some light on these talented women, most of whom are not nearly as famous as they ought to be.

The sheer diversity of your list is amazing, and I appreciated seeing a couple of blogs I’m not familiar with.
