The Women Of The Blogosphere
For those who've never, ah, leafed through a copy of Playboy -- you know, just for the articles -- when your Curmudgeon was a young fellow, that publication was given to doing photo spreads titled "the Women of XXX." XXX was, for a while, some college or collegiate association: the Ivy League, the Big East, the Southern PAC, and so forth. Then they started doing spreads based on other sorts of connections: "The Women of Wal-Mart," "The Women of John Derek," "The Women of Sandra Bernhardt," "The Women of The Men of Joni Mitchell," "The Women of Cell Block K at Marion Federal Penetentiary."
No, this won't be a salacious photo spread. It's just that for no clear reason, your Curmudgeon has just been struck by how many of the Blogosphere's very best are of the distaff persuasion:
- Ith of Absinthe & Cookies,
- Alexandra von Maltzan of All Things Beautiful,
- Michele of AskMom,
- Jane Novak of Armies Of Liberation,
- Pamela Geller Oshry of Atlas Shrugs,
- Fausta Wertz of the Bad Hair Blog,
- Juliette Ochleng of Baldilocks,
- Samantha of The Crazy Rants Of Samantha Burns,
- Mary Madigan of Exit Zero,
- Sondra K. of Knowledge Is Power,
- Lana of Live From The Guillotine,
- The incomparable Michelle Malkin,
- Cathy of Right Wing Sparkle,
- Sister Toldjah,
- Your Curmudgeon's Long Island neighbor The Anchoress,
- Denita TwoDragons of Who Tends The Fires,
- Amanda Witt of Wittingshire,
...and many others too numerous to list.
Thank you, ladies.

What lovely company I keep too.
Posted by Ith on 06/13/2006 at 03:05 PMIt’s nice to see someone shed some light on these talented women, most of whom are not nearly as famous as they ought to be.
The sheer diversity of your list is amazing, and I appreciated seeing a couple of blogs I’m not familiar with.
