My Sincere Thanks…

By Francis W. Porretto
Francis W. Porretto avatar

...to all those who've written, these past few days, to inquire about my silence, to ask if I'm in difficulties, and to offer support and express their best wishes. I'm approximately all right; at least, I doubt anyone has ever died from the gaggle of minor afflictions bedeviling me at the moment. Besides, "this, too, shall pass away," right? Right?

...to the many commenters on the Making Amends essays. The suggestions have largely been good ones, and the expressions of encouragement have been much appreciated.

...and of course, to my Esteemed Co-Conspirators, for carrying the ball willingly and well while I've been on "Web retreat." I can't imagine a better gang of colleagues; Eternity Road is truly blessed to have your contributions.

My retreat might continue for a few days longer, as the C.S.O. and I are headed out for a brief vacation in a place where Internet access is likely to be unavailable.

Stay staunch. Keep the faith.

All my best,
Fran

  2. Heck, I kinda figured your business was your own, and that it was not all that serious (in a bad sense).  There is some sort of old saw out there which says (paraphrasing) “Good news travels fast, but bad news, faster.”

Figured if it was bad news we would have heard about it (or some sort of messy interweb rumor).

In any case, have a great and refreshing vacation. We will be <strike>lurking</strike> patently awaiting your return.
