Captain Smith, your ship has come in
Representative Parker Griffith, a Democrat of Alabama, is shedding his Democratic Party allegiance both forthwith and posthaste, a consequence, he says, of the Democratic Party’s unconscionable support for the health care bill currently before the Congress. It is interesting to note that even though there are almost twelve months between now and the next election, and that the Congress has not even sent the bill in its final form to the President for his signature, the rats are already deserting the sinking ship. A curious phenomenon, to be sure, although I suspect that we will be seeing more of this sort of thing in the days and weeks ahead. What many denizens of the regions along the Potomac lack in principles and intestinal fortitude they make up for in sheer survival instinct.
