Tangentially related to my post yesterday, here comes this story I stumbled across in a Turkish newspaper. As John Stewart might say, and now your moment of zen:

Karnında, babası olacağı çocuğunu taşıyor.Dünyada ilk kez bir erkek hamile kaldı. Thomas aslında cinsiyet değiştirmiş bir kadın.
Bugüne kadar sadece komedi filmlerinde karşılaşılan erkeğin hamile kalması durumu ABD’de gerçek oldu.
Oregon kentinde yaşayan Beatie çiftinin Temmuz’da doğması beklenen kızlarını babası Thomas dünyaya getirecek.
Thomas’ın doğum yapmasında biyolojik bir engel yok. Çünkü Thomas ameliyatla sonradan cinsiyet değiştirmiş bir kadın. 21 yaşındayken ameliyatla göğüslerini aldıran Thomas’ın cinsel organına ise operasyon yapılmadı. Düzenli olarak testesteron hormonu enjekte edilen Thomas, Nancy adlı bir kadınla evlendi.
Çift, gittikleri doktorda Nancy’nin kısır olduğunu öğrendi. Bunun üzerine Thomas hormon tedavisi kesti ve dört ay sonra regl olmaya başladı.
Dokuz doktor gezen çift sonunda hayallerini gerçekleştirdi. Temmuzda doğumu gerçekleştirmesi beklenen Thomas, “Hamile bir erkek olmak inanılmaz bir duygu. Cinsel kimliğim açısından bir değişiklik olmayacak. Nancy için de sadece bebeğimizi taşıyan bir kocayım. Kızımın babası ben, annesi ise Nancy olacak. Çok mutluyum” dedi.

Until now only encountered in comedy films, a situation in which a man has become pregnant is now a reality in the US.
Thomas, who lives in a city in Oregon and expects the girls to be delivered as twins in July, will bring them into the world as their father.
There is no biological obstacle in Thomas’s giving birth, because Thomas is a sex-changed woman after an operation. Thomas, who had his breasts removed in an operation at the age of 21, still has his sexual organs intact. Thomas, regularly injected with testosterone, is married to a woman named Nancy.
The couple learn from their doctor that Nancy is infertile. Because of this, Thomas stopped his hormone therapy and four months later began to menstruate.
After visting twelve doctors, the couple finally had their dreams realized. Thomas, who expects the birth to happen in July, said “Being a pregnant man is an unbelievable feeling. It will not be a change in terms of my gender identity. For Nancy I’m just a husband carrying our baby. I am the girl’s father, and as for Nancy she will be the mother. I am very happy.”
